2024: A Year of Recovery
Think of 2024 as a year when humanity is waking up, like someone slowly coming out of a long sleep. The word for this year is recovery. We’re recovering from a kind of darkness: moving from being unconscious to becoming aware and alert.
Kryon, a spiritual guide, says this awakening is about a new kind of consciousness. It’s not just repeating what we’ve done before. It’s a real shift, a change in how people think and feel.
I followed Kryon’s teachings for decades because they resonated with something deep inside me. I remember feeling awake long before I could name it. I grew up in a conservative religious home where we were taught to fear God, follow the Bible strictly, and keep the Sabbath – or face punishment. Living among people who accepted those rules sometimes made me doubt myself, but one thing I never doubted was my inner knowing; because of that, I never handed my power to another person simply because he was called a rabbi.
I remember moments when fear tried to hold me back, yet I acted anyway. Once, a friend came to pick me up on the Sabbath; my heart raced and I kept thinking, “What will happen?” I was tense the whole drive. When we arrived, nothing had happened. The second time felt a little easier, and before long I was no longer bound by that indoctrination.
Fortunately, rabbis today are different from those I grew up with: many now emphasize the inner life, compassion, and personal freedom rather than fear. Watching that shift, from rigid rules to gentler guidance, reinforced my sense that humanity is waking up: our collective consciousness is softening, questioning, and moving toward greater spiritual awareness.
Part of this awakening is recognizing the divine spark inside every person, the idea that each human carries something precious and sacred. People are also more open to ideas once considered fringe, like reincarnation. More people now accept these ideas than in the past.
Another sign of change is how the world now reacts to war. While war has been common in history, many societies today are increasingly reluctant to repeat old patterns of conflict. There’s a growing desire for peace, cooperation, and solutions that don’t rely on force.
People who resist change, who want to keep the old systems in place are part of the story too. Pushback is real: some institutions and groups try to hold things the way they were. Still, the bigger trend is toward compassion and understanding. Overall, humanity is moving forward.
This is our moment to help. Even small acts of kindness and clarity matter. Hold the light for the planet, stay hopeful, and help build a world based on peace and cooperation. The old ways are ending; a new way is beginning.
